We are seeking a Full-Time General Counsel

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages company litigation relating to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and related collection laws
• Partners with the HR Director to advise on employment legal matters; may help prepare EEOC responses and assist with related employment law matters
• Prepares responses to regulatory complaints
• Manages and coordinates with outside counsel
• Recommends risk mitigation measures to senior leadership
• Performs Legal Research
• Provides general legal counsel to senior managers on all business matters
• Communicates effectively and professionally with all contacts

The ideal candidate will have:

• Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school (required)
• 2-4 years experience with some combination of Litigation, Contracts, and Employment Law.
• Proficiency in legal research; Lexis or Westlaw and other applicable research services.
• Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
• Ability to evaluate risk from a legal and business perspective
• Ability to work well with various Department Heads
• Ability to communicate well written and orally with regulators, clients and prospects
