Human Resources/Payroll Assistant

Client Services, Inc. (CSI), an A+ Better Business Bureau Accredited call center located in St. Charles, MO, is seeking a HR/Payroll Assistant to join our team. For over 30 years CSI has represented some of the largest and most sophisticated financial services organizations in the United States. 

 

General Responsibilities

The HR/Payroll Assistant will report to the HR Manager and be part of our supportive, hard-working, and fun HR team.  50-60% of the responsibilities in this position will involve helping to process the bi-weekly Payroll.  The other 40-50% will be spent supporting various HR Generalist functions.  This position offers a great opportunity to grow and develop within a professional HR team. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Act as primary liaison to our off-site Payroll Processing Team
  • Print and issue manual checks
  • Receive and forward various in-house payroll documents such as W-4s, direct deposit forms, garnishments, changes of address, etc.
  • Respond to requests for Verification of Employment
  • Prepare various HR & Payroll related reports
  • Scan various documents to files
  • Must be able to work a full time schedule, 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday

 

Other Functions

While the Payroll Assistant functions will be primary, the following secondary functions may also be assigned, in varying degrees:

  • Administer Time and Attendance programs
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Maintain employee files / scan documents to file
  • Coordinate various fun employee events
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of Payroll or Payroll Support experience
  • Experience with Paychex and/or Paylocity Payroll system is strongly preferred
  • College degree or equivalent work experience  
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and outside parties. 
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others. 
  • Must be detail oriented, customer-service oriented, and a strong team player
